Mountain Pine BeetleFortay Land Management

In addition to full service weed control Fortay has the equipment, licenses and manpower to help prevent your land from Mountain Pine Beetle attacks. We work closely with the CSU Ag Sciences Dept. office and local forestry experts to monitor and prepare area trees for the Pine Beetle Migrations. Depending on your situation we either recommend an aggressive spraying approach or a patch approach and in many cases both.

Spraying our Trees for Mountain Pine BeetleFortay Land Management

Our equipment consists of dual high pressure pumps capable of spraying up to 85 ft in the air with over 600’ of hose on each truck. For difficult to get to areas we provide ATV spraying allowing us to access what many other companies can not. We are capable of hauling up to 1500 gallons of water to your trees location allowing us to effectively treat close to 500 trees before refilling.

Chemical Patches for Mountain Pine Beetle

Chemical patches work in a variety of ways the most common of which fools the pine beetle into believing that a tree is already infected and thus makes it unattractive for flying beetles as a potential food source. Fortay Land ManagementWe work closely with CSU and provide only the latest in patch technology. With the current belief that beetles in warmer springs will fly two times a year, patches alone or a combination of patches and spraying may be the most effective solution to save your trees.
