Houndstongue (Cynoglossum officinale)
• Biennial with large taproot and growing one to four feet tall
• Large rosettes form first year
• Second year the plant flowers and dies
• Leaves are large, dark green and drooping – resembling a hounds tongue
• Flowers are terminal and fuchsia
• Seeds are Velcro-like, attaching to animal fur and clothing for dispersal
• Poisonous to livestock
